I concur. The only thing that makes me more sick than seeing all of those signs in the grass, knocked over, and behind weeds is the prospect of Vernon Jones actually winning the runoff and then being on the November ballot.

Glad to hear you enjoyed dinner. You should join Yelp (if you're already members, I'm David K. aka http://davidatlanta.yelp.com) because I would have rated your review Useful, Funny, AND Cool - all of which are a big compliment on Yelp.com.

Check it out. Until then I'll keep reading.

xoxo,

Scoff if you will, but Hosea Williams Free at Last is the only company in town that will accept a car title to secure a bail bond. :)

I was at Parish just a week before and while I agree that the ambiance and house drinks are great (I had two Pim's Cups), the food was mixed. The appetizers were great... crab claws and the poached mussel salad, my dinner was less impressive. I had the ahi tuna tournedos. The tasso ham (a menu staple) marinade was a bit overpowering and it felt like I was eating ham-flavored tuna...

I have been to the market on several occasions and recommend it. I had some great shrimp po boys, pastries and coffee there. It's the best when you show up in jeans and a t-shirt and folks are hanging out in their newest, hippest outfit trying to be a part of the scene.

I would try it again just to make sure... but I wasn't sold on the food.

We took my parents when they were in town some weeks back, and we had great food. We had one dessert that was a little sub par, but the mix of small plates and main dishes were very good. I was impressed that even though we all ordered different glasses of wine, they brought each bottle to the table with nice stemware, presented the bottle, and poured tastes before filling the glass...you definitely know what you are getting (and this was for 4 different wines mind you!).

We loved the amuse that started our meal; we had marinated olives and homemade potato chips as the "bread service".

Go on Saturday mornings from 9 to noon, they have a mini farmers market; we got great produce last Saturday ('maters and 'taters, corn, peaches, vidalias all good stuff and cheap). Also the Shed sells homemade jellies (we got a very good red pepper jelly) boiled peanuts, infused simple syrups, fresh baked breads, pickled beats, etc. and they give away recipes on snazzy little index cards. It's definitely worth stopping by.

Went to BGC yesterday for lunch - was awesome - the food, salsa, and special drinks all tasted really fresh (usually you get the canned salsa crap at other places). Both Michael and Kristen were working hard! The restaurant is on the southside of the lumberyard with the entrance inside the complex - we saw the giant skeleton out front but took us a few minutes to find the entrance.
