Le Petit Marche’ (The Little Market) Rocks
March 10, 2008
Brutus and Little Girl wish they could enjoy The Little Market as much as I did…
I have always wanted to open a great market that serves sandwiches and snotty things like cheeses, olives, lotions, and fabulous honey, but alas, I have never done it. Well, thank goodness, Ms. Marchet Sparks has! Alas, Le Petit Marche’ is located on Hosea Williams Drive at the Kirkwood Station and I hopped in for lunch today.
The place is immaculate and I am guessing it will stay this way. You are surrounded by local teas (they have one each day you can taste), olives, cheeses, Oliviers & Co. balsamic vinegars, Italian pastas and sauces, biscuits, hand creams and lotions, fresh truffles in a small cooler! and the list goes on and on. Oh, and you can easily pick up fresh organic milk, soy milk, bacon, or hummus among other things in the fridge. I do wish she will have wine one day to compliment the great selection of cheeses, but she may opt out of dealing with getting that license from the City!
Anyway, you can sit at the cute Provincial French looking tables as you enjoy your sandwich, soup, or salad. The menu is not large, but right on. The soup today was a broccoli, cheese and potato soup with turkey sausage and I will say it was to die for. It possibly was the best creamy soup I have ever had. My half turkey sandwich was nice as well with thick slices of very good turkey, provolone cheese, and a nice mild mustard. I listened to the cool French Fusion music as I ate and enjoyed watching people walk in to peruse the store. Other sandwiches include a Cuban which I hear is great, a greek roast beef, and a tuna salad. (There are more, you just must go visit yourself.)
I am delighted to have this near my home and intend to walk there for a great lunch time and time again. Kirkwood and the surrounding neighborhoods should be so excited that this Little Market has come to town. Go visit and enjoy -and buy a lot! (Open Mon-Thurs. 11am-7pm / Fri., Sat. and Sun. 11am-8pm)
Shale (pronounced Sha’Le) is the maker of all great sandwiches.
Brutus gives it 4 paws up!

found the info on Le Petit Marche thru Via Elisa news letter. but do not see a
map or a street address. I can’t even go to Google maps without street address
and zip code. Please! Not all of us are familiar with Hosea Williams Dr or Kirkwood
station.

Le Petit Marche is located in Kirkwood in the downtown area. Vinocity Wine Bar is located beside it and they have good directions and a map so I will steal theirs and hopefully give them business as well!

Enjoy both places!
