UPS Commercials
November 2, 2007
Okay, I hate the newer UPS commercials. I can’t help it. I am sitting here watching Georgia Tech play Virgina Tech on a Thursday night (the Jackets are losing) and the UPS commercial comes on. How can people like the guy with a mullet drawing trucks and planes on the “white board?” Who is he? If I saw him, I would tell him he needs a new haircut. I mean, seriously. This is a rant. I know it, I accept it and I am proud of it.
Oh my God, the whole UPS whiteboard website is talking to me. It’s the same guy making up crap and drawing planes on-line. I can’t take it. As much as I am proud to call UPS a hometown company, I am sad sad sad that their commercials are so bad. Call UPS and tell them their commercials stink. That’s all.

Oh, but my FAVORITE part of these UPS commercials is that the music playing is by the band “The Postal Service”! Ha! I think it’s hilarious…did UPS not care about the subliminal context? Did they do it on purpose? Whatever, I think it’s too funny, and the guy with the mullet…really, are we all supposed to connect with him? I guess I find him benign at best so it’s working ok…but I don’t like UPS because they CRUSH every box they deliver. I vote FedEx whenever possible.

So funny — I am just watching the Dallas-Giants NFL playoffs, and the UPS commercial comes on — it drove me to such annoyance I had to search the web for others who think the same…
As if I’m going to trust my domestic and global shipping to a low-wattage, urbane yuppie who’s only qualified to work in a wine store. Just a horrible concept.
