I Mean Seriously…

Date September 16, 2008

So, on our way out the other night, we came across this interesting scene on Moreland Avenue near Hosea Williams.  I am not quite sure this is legal OR safe since it is an open flame sitting between old(not used) gas station pumps.  (I have never seen anyone actually take out the gas tanks sitting below this man cooking up some ribs.)  Either way, if you want some “home cookin” in the city and are not afraid of blowing up, he is there most weekend nights.

(You can’t see this really well, but indeed these are two steel drums actually built to be his grill.)

Not to mention the convenient location next to the liquor store - pick up your BBQ and some adult spirits - how handy!

I have been to different QTs on different occasions in Atlanta, and have said something to the inside attendant about people smoking and pumping gas at the same time. Seriously people!

This is not the only location that this occurs along the Moreland and Memorial corridors… I have seen a lot of it lately! You know a Health inspector could shut them down in a heartbeat, but it is a sort of way of life around here.

I see a guy like that on my way home from work, here in Texas, but his stand is in the parking lot of an existing gas station? Not smart but hey, It’s Texas! Know any brilliant people from here? I mean besides Lyle Lovett

Hm. I wish I had seen this - I’ll have to keep my eyes out for one of these - but gosh… people are so concerned about safety and not getting blown up… I bet it was better than anything at Shane’s ribshack.
